How to Flash/Update BIOS?
1. A BIOS flash needs to be performed from a true DOS environment. You can create a boot up disk thru windows XP Pro by formatting the drive A: and select "Format and Create Boot Up Disk). Please use a good quality new floppy disk to minimize the risk of the BIOS flash failing due to corrupted files on the floppy.
2. Once the DOS boot disk has been created, copy both the BIN file as well as the flash utility to the separate floppy disk. 3. Boot from the created DOS Boot disk. 4. Once inside the command prompt, remove the DOS Boot Disk and insert the disk with BIN file and flash utility. 5. Type the flash Ulitity and BIN File with this following extra string: /py/sn/cc/cd/f/r Ex: awdflash xxxxxx.bin /py/sn/cc/cd/f/r 6. Check the BIOS version now. Note: Some mobo featured BIOS Protection, you must disabled this first. Back to FAQ List |
